It was handed over to the Navy on 28th November last year. The 6,670-tonne frigate is a symbol of'Make in India'spirit and indigenous engineering capabilities. A Navy spokesperson said, "This ceremony will be a watershed moment for India's maritime sovereignty." The warship marks a major leap in naval design, stealth, firepower and automation. It has a combined diesel or gas (CODOG) propulsion plant, which provides it long range and high-speed stealth endurance multi-sport operations, with 75 per cent of the indigenously designed and built frigates.
