Indian Chief Minister Criticizes Congress for Lack of Respect to Kargil War Heroes

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched a scathing attack on the Congress at the Shaurya Diwas event held at Gandhi Park on Kargil Vijay Diwas. He said that the Congress viewed even a historic achievement like the Kargil victory from a political perspective and did not give due respect to the valour of the soldiers. The Chief Minister said that today the entire country is paying obeisance to the brave soldiers who made their supreme sacrifice to protect Mother India. It is also important to remember the period when Kargil Vijay Diwas was not celebrated. This shows the mindset of the Congress towards the army and its valour. He said that the Indian army is never politically motivated. The Indian army is among the most powerful armies in the world and has always exhibited indomitable courage, valour and patriotism. The Shaurya saga that makes the country proud did not get due respect only because the NDA government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee was at the center during the Kargil war. This is a direct proof of the political frustration and narrow-mindedness of the Congress.
