Indian Government Seeks NCP Merger and DMK Inclusion Ahead of Special Session

According to a source in the government, there are two major hiccups in the special session and cabinet expansion. The government wants both factions of the NCP to merge before the expansion and the DMK to be part of the government. Talks in both cases are in their final stages. In terms of delimitation, the government has already assured the DMK to include a proportionate 50 per cent increase in the number of seats in the states in writing in the draft bill. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is in constant talks about the merger of the two factions of the NCP. The progress of the NDA in both cases will be reported to PM Modi after he returns from a foreign trip. On the question of advertisement delimitation, the government is confident of the NCP-SP's support. The matter is stuck with the DMK. Even after the big break in the Trinamool Congress, Shiv Sena-UBT, Aam Aadmi Party and the support of Sharad Pawar, Akali Dal, the DMK will decide the course of the special session.
