Indian Lawyers Protest Demanding Resignation of Bar Council of India Chairman

Lawyers protest intensifies in Delhi demanding resignation of Bar Council of India (BCI) Chairman Manan Kumar Mishra. Lawyers at the protest organised by the All India Young Advocates Association raise questions about the NALSAR controversy as well as BCI's functioning, accountability and issues related to lawyers across the country. The protest has also received support from the Cockroach Janata Party. The prestigious Bombay Bar Association has also demanded Manan Kumar Mishra's resignation. Police have been deployed around the BCI office in view of the protest. Security has been beefed up around the Bar Council of India office in view of the protest in Delhi. Protesters carry posters and placards demanding resignation of the BCI chairman. During the protest, slogans such as'Resign BCI Chairman, "'14 years in office,'Lawyers in disarray, "'We are representing everyone, "'Who is representing us "and'Down with the dictatorship of our top lawyers" have been raised.
