Indian Official Caught Accepting Bribe in Public Health Department Scam

Pradeep Kumar, a resident of Ramgarh, told the ACB in his complaint that he works as a contractor in the public health department. His bills of Rs 9 lakh in division number two and Rs 6 lakh in division number one were pending for about two years. When he met SDC Dharamveer to get the bills paid, he demanded a bribe of Rs 15,000 at the rate of 3 per cent for passing the bill of Rs 15 lakh. The complainant had also recorded the conversation of the bribe demand. After receiving the complaint, the ACB formed a team and laid a trap. The complainant was given 30 notes of Rs 1. Deputy Director of Animal Husbandry Department Dr Surya was appointed as the Duty Magistrate. The team acted and caught SDC Dharamveer accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000. In this case, Rs 15,000 was also recovered from the Group D employee of HKRN. The SDC employee had given him a bribe of Rs 15,000 under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
