Indian Parliament's Monsoon Session Begins Amid Protests and Chaos

The monsoon session of Parliament began on a stormy note. Opposition parties, already preparing to corner the government on serious issues such as the Ram Mandir sacrilege and the NEET-UG paper leak, continued to create ruckus and sloganeer. Since the Kakroch Janata Party protest on the road outside had also heated up the atmosphere, the government also showed no intention to forcibly run the House and settle the legislative business. There were appeals from the benches in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha to maintain calm and start a discussion, but after the opposition did not relent, both Houses were finally adjourned till Tuesday. On the first day of the monsoon session of Parliament on Monday, the atmosphere in both Houses was almost the same. As soon as the question hour began in the Lok Sabha, members of all the opposition parties, including the Congress and the SP, started raising slogans over the sacrilege and the NEET-UG paper leak.
