Indian PM Modi Visits Seychelles for Historic Independence Celebration

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a three-day (June 27-29) historic visit to Seychelles, a small country in the Indian Ocean. It is the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Seychelles'independence, where PM Modi was invited as the guest of honor. Now it is worth thinking that the Prime Minister of India himself reached there for this country with a population of only 1 lakh and a handful of land. After all, why are the eyes of the big superpowers of the world like America, China and India always fixed on this small island country? Geographically, Seychelles may be a very small country, but from a strategic point of view, its importance is much bigger than its size. This country is made up of 115 islands spread across the western Indian Ocean. It is not a fenced land, but is scattered in a very large part of the sea. Seychelles is located at the exact crossroads where the world's busiest sea trade routes pass through, connecting the Middle East and Asia with millions of dollars of global trade, and every country is dependent on this global trade route to secure global trade.
