Indian Woman Allegedly Assaulted by Man, Still Harassed After Family Intervenes

The victim told the police that on June 14, at around 8.30 pm, Eelu forcibly entered her house. The accused grabbed the victim's hand and tried to take her away. On resisting, the accused tore her clothes and stripped her naked. He also threatened to kill her. The victim's mother and younger sister were present in the house at the time of the incident. Villagers gathered at the spot when she raised an alarm. This saved the victim's life. Later, the accused's brothers and relatives reached there. They took Eelu away after assuring her not to harass her in the future. The complainant alleged that even after the family's assurance, the accused's activities did not improve. He is still harassing her by calling and texting new numbers. The victim lodged a complaint with the police station on June 18. ACP Mussoorie Ajay Singh said that an FIR has been registered against Eelu's son Rashid - legal action will be taken.
