According to the board, the T20I series has been added to the schedule to prepare for the first ICC Women's Champions Trophy to be held next year. The Champions Trophy will be held in Sri Lanka in February 2027. India toured South Africa in preparation for the Women's T20 World Cup 2026 in April, where they lost 4-1 in a five-match T20I series. The'Women in Blue'will now have a chance to settle scores. India and South Africa will play a one-off Test in Gqeberha between 9 and 12 December. This will be followed by a three-match ICC Women's Championship ODI series, starting on 16 December. The second ODI will be played on 19 December, followed by the third T20I on 22 December. The first T20I will be played in Potchefon.
