New Delhi: Delhi's political temperature rose when the Patiala House Court accepted the plea of Indian Youth Congress national president Uday Bhanuchibhai Nijamin. He was arrested for staging a unique protest by taking off his shirt during the high-profile'AI Impact Summit'held at Bharat Mandapam. The Crime Branch of the Delhi Police called him the main mastermind of this entire'shirtless'movement and asked for seven more days of remand on the pretext of investigation. However, the court rejected the police's arguments and ordered him to be released on bail after he was sent to judicial custody. There were also legal manoeuvres in the case. According to Uday Bhanu Chib's lawyer Suleman Mohammad Khan, the police tried to rush to the duty magistrate's residence by deliberately keeping the lawyers in the dark. The police insisted on getting custody documents again when the police custody expired, but the defence argued that a bail order could not be completed by Sunday.
