While preparations are on for the BRICS summit, senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP P Chidambaram on Wednesday questioned how India has actually benefited from the recent BRICS summit. The former Union minister said he has not seen any significant outcome from the last two-three meetings. Talking about the 2026 BRICS summit in Delhi, Chidambaram said India is part of many multilateral groups like BRICS, Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), G20, and Quad, but he questioned what tangible benefits the country has got from these. Chidambaram told news agency ANI, "I don't know how many presidents and how many prime ministers are coming. I don't think there have been any tangible benefits or tangible results from the last two-three BRICS summits." He added, "Actually, we are part of BRICS, SCO, G20, and Quad. What do we see any tangible benefits from this?
