India's Ceasefire Initiative Raises Hopes for End to Russia-Ukraine War

The proposal has received a positive response from both Russia and Ukraine. Russia's presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday that Russia welcomes India's contribution to efforts to resolve the current situation in Ukraine. Peskov's response was sought to media reports that India has sent a new three-step proposal for a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict. According to the state-run TASS news agency, Peskov said that India has expressed its readiness to make a practical contribution to the resolution of the current situation involving Ukraine. He said that Russia is grateful for this initiative and its suggestions to its Indian friends. India's ceasefire initiative was also received by four Ukrainian foreign ministers recently.
