There has been a continuous stir for the last several days regarding the Eighth Pay Commission. After a series of meetings, the employees'organizations are being asked for their demands. The last date for which was 31 May. Now the last date has been changed once again. Now the employees can send their suggestions, memorandums and demands till 15 June 2026. The fitment factor is the most discussed at this time, because on the basis of this, the new basic salary of the employees will be decided. The fitment factor is a multiplier, due to which the existing basic salary is converted into the new basic salary. For the 8th Pay Commission, the government has not yet declared any official fitment factor. However, the employees'organizations, pensioners'groups and experts have put forward their demands to the government. At present, there are proposals from 1.92 to 3.83 regarding the fitment factor. It is clear that while the expectations of the employees are quite high, the government will have to take a different decision after the 8th Pay Commission.
