India's Eighth Pay Commission Given 18 Months to Present Salary and Pension Report

A question was asked to the Central Government in the Parliament regarding when the Eighth Pay Commission will present its report related to the salary and pension of the employees. On this, the government said that the Pay Commission has been given 18 months. However, the government did not give any information about whether the panel will present its report before the deadline. The statement about the Pay Commission from the government came at a time when the employees and pensioners of the Central Government are waiting for the recommendations related to salary, allowances and pension. The commission was formed on November 3, 2025, it is headed by Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai. Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha on August 10,'The commission will give its recommendations within 18 months from the date of its formation.'The government also informed that the commission has not yet submitted its recommendations. The official website of the Eighth CPC also states that the commission was formed on November 3, 2025, and the last date to submit its report is 18 months from May 202.
