India's National Security Strategy: Focus on Proactive Measures to Prevent Future Challenges

On the second and final day of the National Security Strategy Conference, Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah stressed on the need to destroy challenges before they become problems. He said that this forum should decide by looking at the trends of the coming 15-20 years, which problems can arise and what should be the strategy to stop them. Addressing the closing session of the conference, Shah said that the Modi government has set the goal of a developed India by 2047. The first condition of a developed India is strong internal security. To become the first in every field, internal security will have to be strengthened. He said that if the previous governments had visualized the problems of narcotics, Maoism, and the North East before they became serious, then the country would not have suffered for decades. The Modi government has eliminated the challenge in all the three hot spots of internal security and its entire credit goes to the police forces of every state, central agencies, and paramilitary forces. Shah said that this national level forum can decide by looking at the coming 15-20 years, which problems should arise and according to their code of laws.
