India's PM Modi Acts Swiftly to Protect Millions of Indians Working in War-Torn Gulf Region

New Delhi: Millions of Indians sweating it out in the Gulf are paying the highest price for the raging war between Iran and Israel. While drones and ballistic missiles are raining down from the skies, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has acted like a'war room'even on a holiday. PM Modi has held telephonic talks with top leaders of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and Kuwait in the last three days. His message was very clear and stern: "Nothing should happen to my Indians." After the unfortunate death of three Indians in an attack in the UAE, the Indian government no longer wants to be lax. This is no ordinary protocol conversation, but a prelude to a very complex rescue operation. Indians living in the Gulf are not just professionals working in offices, but millions of labourers who work in hazardous areas like construction sites and oil refineries. The Sultan of Kuwait and the Sultan of Oman have made it clear to the Indian community that the responsibility of security and well-being of the Indian community lies on the soil of the war-torn country.
