Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting at his official residence'7 Lok Kalyan Marg'on Sunday evening. The meeting was attended by senior ministers and officials of the government, which reviewed the situation related to the petroleum, crude oil, gas, power and fertilizer sectors in view of the current situation in the Middle East. The main objective of the meeting was to maintain uninterrupted supply of all essentials including oil, gas, fertilizers in the country. In this meeting, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Chemical and Fertilizers and Health Minister JP Nadda, Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya along with other senior ministers and officials were also present. Amid the Middle East crisis, the government is already taking active steps to maintain uninterrupted supply of oil, gas, fertilizers. On 12 March, Prime Minister Modi said that the ongoing war in the Middle East had given birth to a global energy crisis. He also said that it would be a test of the country's patience and wisdom to face this challenge.
