IPL Schedule Changed: CSK vs GT Match Moved Due to Municipal Elections

In a sudden twist to the 2026 IPL schedule, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has changed the venue of a crucial match. The change is already in the air around the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) vs Gujarat Titans (GT) match. From the beginning, there was uncertainty about the IPL schedule. Only 20 matches were initially announced. Later, the entire schedule was announced on the day of the various state elections. But after everything changed - and the big reason behind it is the political situation. It was earlier scheduled to be a match between CSK and GT on 26 April at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. But due to municipal elections in the city on that day, the match has been moved to MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The match will start at 3: 30 pm. On the other hand, the match that was scheduled to be played between CSK and GT in Chennai on 21 May will now start at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The remaining seven evening matches of the Gujarat team have been rescheduled to the same date.
