Iran, Pakistan, and US Officials Meet in Islamabad to Discuss Peace Initiatives

Iranian Ambassador Moghaddam had earlier announced on'X'( Twitter) that an Iranian delegation would arrive in Islamabad on the night of 9 April at the invitation of Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He also stated that despite repeated ceasefire violations by Israel, Iran is ready to hold serious discussions on its proposed'10-point agenda '. However, the disappearance of this post soon raises the specter of something unorganized or highly secretive. The White House has already confirmed that US Vice President J.D. Vance will lead important talks in Islamabad over the weekend. On the other hand, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf is also expected to arrive in Pakistan with his delegation. If these two powers meet in Islamabad, it could prove to be the biggest diplomatic initiative to establish peace in West Asia. Due to these high-profile visits and security reasons, the administration of Islamabad has declared a domestic holiday for the next two days. The entire city of Islamabad seems to be a bridge between what Iran is trying to do over the weekend in Islamabad and what the US is doing now.
