Iran Responds to US Peace Proposal with Conditions

Tehran: Amid global tensions, Iran has sent its multi-pronged response to the US peace proposal. However, the ideological differences between the two countries still seem to be deep. Iran, in its proposal to the US, has offered to end the war and reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz in a phased manner, but in return, it has offered to completely lift the economic blockade and sanctions imposed on Iran. Iran has offered to suspend uranium enrichment, but the US has agreed to a shorter period instead of accepting the proposed 20-year period. Most importantly, Iran has categorically rejected the US condition of completely dismantling its nuclear facilities. In addition, Iran has offered to dilute enriched uranium to a higher level or transfer it to a third country, but has asked for guarantees that the US would withdraw from the deal if it fails to do so.
