Tehran, April 4: Iran has sent another proposal to the US to end the war. A new 14-point peace proposal, sent by Pakistan to the US, is meant to be a permanent end to the war. It was drafted in response to the US's earlier 9-point plan. Trump said he was considering the new proposal, but was unsure if he would be able to strike a deal with Iran. He had previously expressed disappointment with the Iranian proposal. A ceasefire brokered by Pakistan began on April 8, but no peace deal has yet been reached. Iran wants the war to end permanently, while Trump demands that Iran first lift its effective blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. Trump also considers Iran's nuclear capability a red line (i.e., a limit that cannot be crossed). Iran has made it clear that it will not give up its rights to Hormuz and uranium enrichment. Despite the US strikes on February 28 in response to the Israeli strikes, Iran continues to blockade the Strait of Hormuz and the US naval blockade.
