According to Iranian officials, delegations from both countries are expected to arrive in Islamabad on Sunday (19 April 2026). Al Jazeera reports that the talks are taking place at a time when continuous efforts are being made to prevent war in the entire region. Meanwhile, Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif. The meeting emphasized establishing peace in the region and finding solutions through dialogue. Qatar and Turkey have also appreciated Pakistan's role in this direction. The meeting took place during the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkey, where leaders of several countries were present. On the other hand, Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff, Mohammad Baqer Baqer, met the President of the Iranian Parliament in Tehran on Thursday.
