Iran-US Tensions Escalate Over Strait of Hormuz

The confrontation between Iran and the United States over the Strait of Hormuz has intensified. Iran has announced to stop the movement of ships through this important sea route, citing US military activities. On the other hand, US President Donald Trump says that Hormuz is fully open and commercial ships are coming and going comfortably. These different claims of both countries have created a huge confusion in the Gulf region. The turmoil in this area, which is very sensitive to oil supplies, has once again raised the concern of the international market. Iran's Maritime Department (CESA) says that due to the activities of the US military in the area, the movement of ships through Hormuz is not possible at the moment. According to the department, the ships will be allowed to go ahead only when the conditions are right there. Iran considers this sea route as a bomb, a valuable weapon for its security and after some time, the Iranian Central Command (CNO) has also rejected its claim.
