Israel Sets Date for General Election: October 27, 2026

Israel's parliament (Knesset) on Sunday officially announced that the country's next general election will be held on 27 October 2026. This is the last date set by law. The parliament issued a statement clarifying that since the current government is going to finish its full term, there is no need to draft a new law to dissolve the parliament prematurely. The government's move puts a full stop to all speculation of early elections in Israel. This election is very important for Israel's political history. This is going to be the first time in nearly 40 years that the country's elections are going to be held at their exact time, not ahead of any dispute.
