Israel's Finance Minister Calls for Border Extension to Lebanon's Litani River Amid Ongoing Conflict

New Delhi તા.24: Amid the raging war in the Middle East, Israel's Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has made a highly controversial and big statement. Smotrich has said that Israel should now extend its official border to Lebanon's Litani River. This is believed to be the clearest statement yet by a major Israeli leader about occupying Lebanese land. Why only the Litani River? The Litani River is located in southern Lebanon. Israel says the area is a stronghold of the Iranian-backed Hezbollah and that is where rocket attacks are launched on Israel. Smotrich stressed in a radio statement, "In every debate, I say that Israel's new border should be the Litani River." Israeli airstrikes and ground attacks have so far killed more than 1,000 people. More than 1 million people have fled their homes. An Iranian Revolutionary Guards commander was also killed in the area on Monday.
