Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Adjourned Sine Die After Productive Session

The proceedings of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly were adjourned sine die on Wednesday. Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather thanked the members for their participation and said that it is his responsibility as the Presiding Officer to help the MLAs raise issues of public interest and expectations of the people they represent. Rather said, "I am grateful to all those who spoke here. As the Presiding Officer, it is my responsibility to help you raise the expectations of those who have sent you here." He informed that this session had 7 working sittings from September 21 to September 30, 2026, which took a total of 25 hours and 25 minutes for legislative business. The Assembly successfully passed 5 government bills and discussed 2 private member resolutions. Rather said that he tried to give a chance to all the members rising above political affiliations and reiterated that they are not associated with any political party. "Despite the fact that I am not associated with any political party," he said, "I am trying to give this opportunity to all the members to be associated with the party."
