Jan Suraj Party Suffers Major Setback as Key Associate Resigns and Backs BJP Candidate

In the midst of the by-election to the Bankipur seat, Prashant Kishor, the facilitator of Jan Suraj, has suffered a major setback. Ritesh Ranjan Singh alias Bittu Singh, associated with the party, resigned from Jan Suraj on Thursday (July 08, 2026). The biggest thing is that Bittu Singh has given his support to the BJP candidate from Bankipur. Bittu Singh has resigned at a time when Prashant Kishor, the facilitator himself, is going to contest the election from Bankipur seat. Bittu Singh has written in his resignation letter, "I tender my resignation with immediate effect from the primary membership of the Jan Suraj Party." Although he has not given the reason for leaving the party in the letter. In the letter, he has further written, "I worked with full devotion and dedication while being with the party and also contested as a candidate of the Jansuraj Party from the Digha assembly constituency in the Bihar assembly election 2025.
