After nearly 25 days of protests by students in Jharkhand, the government has agreed to the demands and subsequently cancelled 22 competitive examinations, including the Combined Graduate Level (JSSC CGL) examination. Apart from the postponement of 6 examinations, 17 recruitments have come under scrutiny which will now be investigated by the CID. This decision was taken in a special cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren and the Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Official Language issued a notification late on Tuesday. The JSSC CGL examination, held under advertisement number 10/2023 for 1,932 posts, has been cancelled on the basis of facts revealed during the ongoing investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and CID. This decision has had a direct impact on the candidates who passed the examination and were later selected for government posts. According to information received from candidates, 2,627 candidates had successfully completed the selection process. According to other reports, about 2,000 candidates have been rejected by the Chief Minister's Office after their appointment letters were received.
