JMM's Ram to File Rajya Sabha Nomination Papers on June 8

JMM general secretary and spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya told reporters that Ram will file his nomination papers in the presence of Chief Minister Hemant Soren on June 8. About the second seat, Bhattacharya said the party leadership will take a final decision after discussions with the Congress. The Congress on Friday (June 5) announced senior party functionary Pranav Jha as its candidate for one of the two Rajya Sabha seats in the state. During the meeting chaired by the chief minister on Friday, the ruling MLAs demanded that the party contest both the seats. One Rajya Sabha seat fell vacant after the death of JMM co-founder Shibu Soren, while six-year-old BJP member Deepak Prakash will start filing his nomination papers on June 8 to complete his six-year term.
