Karnataka Deputy CM Demands Delimitation, Women's Reservation in Lok Sabha

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has made a big demand for delimitation. In the 31st Southern Zonal Council meeting held in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu, he said that the number of 543 seats in the Lok Sabha should be maintained for the next 25 years. For this, the 1971 census has been demanded to be maintained. He said that'Walk with us. Fund us properly, and give the South its due. We will continue to give India its future.'Karnataka has also said that reservation for women should be implemented, but it does not require increasing the total number of seats in the Lok Sabha. That is, women's reservation should be given within the existing 543 seats. DK Shivakumar said that Karnataka has not come up with any complaints. He said that the state is a partner in India's development journey and only needs fairness. He raised the issue of funds, political voice and respect for the southern states. Shivakumar said, "When Karnataka is strong, when the south is strong, when south India is strong, then the population of the southern states can be increased on the basis of the southern states's population."
