In Karnataka, Congress leader B. Nagendra resigned from the DK cabinet on Friday. He became the second minister in two years to do so. Nagendra is accused of a Rs 89-crore scam. He was re-inducted into the cabinet during the cabinet expansion earlier this month. Before that, he was also a minister in the Siddaramaiah government in 2024. With the announcement of his resignation on Friday evening, Nagendra became emotional and started crying. At the press conference, Nagendra said, "I believe in the Constitution. We asked the BJP many times to come to the assembly and discuss the allegations against me, but they did not come. Where is the evidence?" He alleged that the BJP wants to implement Manusmriti and has an anti-tribal mindset; he also said that he is being attacked because he is a Dalit. He then said, "I am resigning on my own will."
