Keir Starmer Steps Down as MP for Holborn and St Pancras to Focus on International Affairs

Former British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced on Tuesday that he is stepping down as MP for Holborn and St Pancras. Starmer said that he now wants to focus on international affairs. Starmer said that working on issues such as defence, security, trade and technology will be his priority in a changing world. He also spoke about continuing to work on the issue of violence against women and girls. Former UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has decided to step down as MP on the day Parliament resumes after the summer recess. Following his resignation, a by-election is now being held for the seat. Starmer said, "In the summer, I got time to think about my future. I have decided that now is the right time to step down as MP for Holborn and St Pancras and pass on the responsibility to a successor." The former UK Prime Minister added, "After representing the great Frank Dobson 11 years ago, it has been my privilege to speak out about violence against girls and girls and to speak out of my respect for women's work."
