In Kerala, the issue of alleged road blockade of Chief Minister V D Satheesan's convoy has now snowballed into a political controversy. Thiruvananthapuram DCC member Anil Kumar alias Chenthi Ani has been arrested in the case. It is alleged that he along with Congress workers tried to stop the Chief Minister's convoy and allegedly used abusive language with him. The matter dates back to Friday evening. Chief Minister V D Satheesan was on his way to attend an event to mark Sree Narayana Guru's birth anniversary at Chempazhanthy. Meanwhile, Congress workers led by Chenthi Ani signalled his vehicle to stop. This led to a heated argument between the Chief Minister and Ani. Satheesan left after some time. Chenthi Ani and his supporters had organised a separate event for Narayana Guru Jayanthi at Chennad. Chief Minister Satheesan was also invited to inaugurate the event. However, the event was not included in the Chief Minister's official schedule. Muraleedharan said that he was invited to attend Chennithalai's programme instead.
