Kerala Government Programs to Sing Only Two Antaras of National Anthem 'Vande Mataram'

There is a controversy once again about Vande Mataram. There is a controversy in Kerala about singing only two antaras. Kerala Health Minister K. Muraleedharan and Congress MP Rajmohan Unnithan said on Sunday that only the first two antaras of the national anthem will be sung in government programmes. Speaking to reporters in Kerala, Muraleedharan said, As usual in Kerala, only the first two antaras of the national anthem will be sung. Only the first two antaras were sung in all state government programmes earlier and this tradition will continue. Rajmohan Unnithan said that'Vande Mataram will not be sung in full in this birth in Kerala.'Speaking to a TV channel, he said,'Though he had no idea about the chief secretary's directive to sing the national anthem in full, it will not be sung in full, even if Narendra Modi threatens to shoot us. It will be sung in the same way as it has been sung till now.'Unnithan's chief secretary Vishwanath Muraleedharan was responding to'Kerala Chief Secretary's letter dated August 6.
