Koel Mallick Files Nomination for Rajya Sabha Elections from Trinamool Congress

Kolkata: The combination of glamour and service is once again visible in the politics of West Bengal. Koel Mallick, the evergreen actress of Bengali cinema, has officially filed her nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections from the Trinamool Congress (TMC). Koel Mallick's name is the most discussed among the four names announced by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for the elections to five seats to be held on 16 March. Koel Mallick, who seemed excited after filing her nomination, said in an interaction with the media, "I am very eager for this new journey. Just as the people of Bengal have given me love on screen, now I need their support for public service. I want to work for my state and country with full devotion and honesty." Notably, Koel Mallick has been associated with the Trinamool Congress since 2003.
