Kolkata Mayor and TMC MLA Deny Involvement in Sending Notices to TMC MP's Properties

Kolkata mayor and TMC MLA Firhad Hakim, who addressed a press conference virtually clearing Abhishek of the illegal construction notice, said, "I don't know anything about this whole issue. And honestly, I don't know. The mayor has nothing to do with who will or won't be served a legal notice by the municipality. It's not in my jurisdiction." Firhad then virtually shrugged off the responsibility and said, "I can't talk about his personal issues." The Kolkata municipality has sent notices to 17 properties of TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee. The controversy has started since then. While the TMC calls the notice a case of political vendetta, the TMC wants to leave the matter to Abhishek's neck. In the assembly today, the TMC MLA from Beleghata, Kunal Ghosh, said, "I am saying what the party as a spokesperson thinks about the issue. But whose house the notice has gone to, whether the notice has gone to Kolkata or not, is the only thing he can say about it."
