Kumar Birla Returns In Vi: Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Birla has been appointed as the Non-Executive Chairman of Vodafone Idea (VI ).The decision comes at a time when Jio and Airtel are facing regulatory headwinds such as competition and adjusted revenue arrears. According to Birla, there is a lot of opportunity in the telecom sector as India goes digital. The company has decided to invest $5 billion to improve network and service quality. Kumar Mangalam Birla resigned as Chairman in 2021 due to pressure from high debt and government dues. Now he is back as Chairman from 5 May 2026. He said that this decision is important for Vodafone Idea to recover. He also said that he has invested a thousand crore rupees in the telecom sector since India is becoming a digital country.
