Leaders Condemn Assault on Minor Student in Bihar, Accuse BJP of Political Duplicity

After the video of the alleged assault and molestation of a minor student in Bihar's Jamui went viral, the matter has heated up. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge have condemned the incident and targeted the Bihar government and the BJP. Rahul Gandhi has demanded action against the accused under the POCSO Act. Mamata Banerjee has expressed anger over the incident. She said that the video from Bihar is heart-wrenching and shocking. Those who take law into their hands in the name of'moral policing'should be held accountable. She said that a mob in a society cannot be allowed to decide who should get respect, freedom or punishment. Mamata apologized to the minor victims and said that as a country, we failed to keep them safe and protect their trust. She accused the BJP of political duplicity, saying that the party's leaders demand justice in opposition-ruled states, but the law is very angry with them.
