The Left Front on Thursday released its second list of candidates for the West Bengal Assembly elections. The names of 32 candidates for the second phase were announced from the CPI (M) office headquarters at Alimuddin Street. The list also does not have the names of CPI (M) state secretary Mohammad Salim and youth leader Shatarupa Ghosh as candidates. However, the CPI (M) has left out a high-voltage seat like Nenandigram, which was contested by Meenakshi Mukherjee, for its partner CPI. The CPI candidate from this seat is Shanti Giri. She is up against Suvendu Adhikari and his close Trinamool rival Pabitra Kar. In the Bhabanipur seat, lawyer Srijib Biswas, a known face of the CPI (M), is contesting against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He has contested several times in the past. However, he has lost every time. Also Read - Suvendu Ki Laller, Humayun Ka Muslim Card In Bhabanipur, Mamata's Political Bust!
