Lok Sabha Secretariat Sets Deadline for Rebel Trinamool Congress MPs to Respond to Party Membership Controversy

The Lok Sabha Secretariat has given 15 days to the rebel Trinamool Congress MPs to respond to the controversy related to the Trinamool Congress (TMC). Now the rebel Trinamool MPs have to give their reply by October 8. The rebel Trinamool MPs had asked for a 30-day extension (till October 22) from the office of the Lok Sabha Speaker. Abhishek Banerjee had submitted a petition to the Lok Sabha Speaker demanding the membership of 20 rebel Trinamool MPs. Let us tell you, Abhishek Banerjee had met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. He had said that he had come to show the Speaker Rule 2A of the Tenth Schedule. Under this, if someone leaves the party of his own free will, his membership is terminated. This matter is related to a political dispute within the TMC. These MPs had reportedly claimed to merge with the National Citizens Party of India (NCPI). After this, the TMC demanded the membership of these MPs to be terminated. Abhishek Banerjee had also filed several petitions before the Speaker of the 10th Schedule of the Lok Sabha.
