Lok Sabha to Discuss Anti-Paper Leak Bill Amid Opposition Protests

The bill related to paper leaks will be discussed in the house on Tuesday (28 July 2026). After the initiative of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, all the major political parties have agreed to start discussion on this bill. TMC has targeted the central government over this. The anti-paper leak bill TMC MP Dola Sen said, Let there be discussion first then let there be talk. We never see till 2014-2026 that the issue that should be discussed has ever been discussed. They do not want discussion on every single issue. They like dictatorship, but they do not like discussion. At least six hours have been fixed for discussion on this issue in the Lok Sabha. Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Jitendra Singh introduced the Lok Pariksha (Prevention of Improper Means) Amendment Bill, 2026 on Monday (27 July 2026) amid uproar by opposition members. Under the provisions of the bill, people who leak papers or use unfair means in examinations can be punished for up to five years and a maximum penalty of up to seven years in this crime.
