Macron Calls for Ceasefire in Middle East Conflict Amid Fears of World War III

New Delhi: The ongoing conflict in the Middle East is no longer just a regional one, it has intensified fears of World War III. French President Emmanuel Macron has come out and called on Israel and Iran to stop bombing with immediate effect. Significantly, Macron has not only appealed, but made it clear that if France's interests or allies in the Middle East are threatened, the French military will not sit idly by and retaliate. On the other hand, Saudi Arabia has also taken a very aggressive stance. Missile attacks by Iran on neighboring countries such as Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and the UAE have forced the Saudis to think. Saudi Arabia has said in an official statement that these violations of international laws will not be tolerated. The Saudi government has given political assurances to all its neighboring countries and military assistance, while claiming to secure some of its air defense systems in the UAE.
