Macron Escapes Explosion at Hotel in Damascus

It was a lucky escape for French President Emmanuel Macron. President Macron was staying at a hotel in the Syrian capital Damascus. Just as Macron was leaving for the presidential palace, a loud explosion shook the foundations of the Hotel Four Seasons. It was Macron's good luck, or a miscalculation, or both. If the explosion had happened a little later, the news of this blast could have been very gruesome. People were recovering from the sensation of the first blast. The second blast occurred with even more force. It happened in an ambulance parked next to the hotel. It caught fire immediately. According to the latest information, 18 people were injured in the explosion. Immediately after the explosion, emergency workers were engaged in extinguishing the fire, smoke and flames were seen near the shops in the back. Reuters video showed Macron's motorcade going from the presidential palace to the highway before the explosions. He was seen by Syrian and Syrian military officials while meeting with Syrian government officials.
