Madhya Pradesh Police Crackdown Continues Amid Datia By-Election

Police crackdown on BJP leaders and workers continues in Madhya Pradesh amid Datia Assembly by-election. Almost a week after the FIR was registered in the Chakka Jam case, the police have now registered another case on the charge of forcibly closing the market. After this action, discussions have intensified in the political corridors of the district. According to the police, a complaint was received by some people during the protest on July 10 to close the market by pressuring the traders. On this basis, the Kotwali police station police have registered a complaint and started an investigation. Police say that further action will be taken on the basis of available evidence in the case. This whole development is related to the protest that took place after the BJP cut the ticket of Dr. Narottam Mishra in Datia by-election and made Ashutosh Tiwari a candidate. During the protest, the supporters blocked the national highway. The police used force to remove the jam, lathicharged and also fired tear gas shells. After this action, the police had registered a case against 27 people and the chairman of the municipality for various political activities.
