Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board Reconstituted with Two Hindu Members for First Time

Political rhetoric has intensified over the reconstitution of the Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board. Board president Sanwar Patel and minister Vishwas Sarang have welcomed the decision to include two Hindu members in the board for the first time. Both leaders say that this decision has been taken for the purpose of better management, transparency and protection of Waqf properties. Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board president Sanwar Patel has said that the reconstitution of the board is an important and positive step. He said that this time along with two Hindu members, two women have also been included in the board. He says that some people are questioning what is the work of Hindu members in the Waqf Board and talking about Muslim members in temples or gurudwara committees. On this, he said that the Waqf Board and mosques are separate entities. Waqf Board is an administrative and management body where honest and competent people are needed. He said that the board has been reconstituted so that there is no corruption in Waqf properties and illegal encroachments of Waqf land. Sarang also called the two Waqf Board members as a commendable step.
