Maharashtra Government Faces Scrutiny Over Land Allotment in Ahilyanagar

Congress Legislature Party leader Vijay Wadettiwar raised serious questions about the MIDC land in Ahilyanagar. He alleged that about 4,000 acres of land was being handed over to private and corporate companies. According to Wadettiwar, this precious land had been transferred at throwaway prices. He told the House that the government was well aware of these issues. The minister admitted that there had been some lapses and mistakes in the process of mutation and transfer of land. He insisted that the government would conduct an in-depth inquiry into the matter. Bawankule announced that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) would be set up at every level to investigate the entire transaction.
