Maharashtra Government Introduces Bill to Regulate Dance Bars and Prevent License Abuse

The government is looking hard at dance bars in Maharashtra. Devendra Fadnavis's government has introduced a new bill in the assembly, so that people who run dance bars can not take advantage of the law. Now many bars and hotels run dance bars by taking the license of orchestra or live music. They get this license easily under the Maharashtra Police Act, but later dance is also done there against the rules. Now the government wants to change this system. According to the new bill, orchestra or live music in hotels, bars and restaurants will no longer be allowed under the Police Act, but under the Dance Bar Act of 2016. Minister Pankaj Bhoir has introduced a bill in the assembly related to this. Under this, the process of obtaining a license for live music performance and orchestra in hotels, restaurants and bars is proposed to be taken out of the'Maharashtra Police Act '. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had also said that some people are taking advantage of this legal loophole and that the government will stop their dance bar owners from using the law.
