Maharashtra Politics in Turmoil as Dharmendra Pradhan Resigns and Devendra Fadnavis Emerges as Contender for Education Ministry

With the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan from the post of Education Minister, there has been a stir in Maharashtra. Senior leader of the Uddhav Thackeray faction of Shiv Sena, Sanjay Raut has claimed that the race for the new Chief Minister in Maharashtra is also likely to start. Sanjay Raut claims that Devendra Fadnavis will be the next Education Minister. He says that Devendra Fadnavis has been called to Delhi and he can be made the Education Minister. If Sanjay Raut's claim is true, then he is also set to become the new Chief Minister in Maharashtra. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has been the CM in 2014-2019 and Deputy Chief Minister of the state until 2022-2024. Devendra Fadnavis's political career has been limited to Maharashtra politics. However, he has held important responsibilities in elections at the national level several times. Maharashtra CM's political career has been very active and influential. He served as a Ward Councillor in Nagpur Municipal Corporation from 1992 to 2001. He was also the Mayor of Nagpur from 1997 to 2001. He was a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly for five consecutive terms from 2014 to 2022. Eknath Shinde was the Chief Minister of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and the Leader of the Opposition from 2022 to 2019.
