Bones in the human body usually begin to weaken around the age of 30 or 40. It is often seen that this problem is not detected until a fracture or DEXA scan is done. However, I always advise my patients to include foods in their diet that can provide minerals like calcium, vitamin-D, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, etc., which will go a long way in keeping the bones strong even with age. The special thing is that you do not need to take any hi-fi or fancy foreign foods for these. These nutrients can be easily found through yogurt, buttermilk, egg yolks, lentils, fenugreek, chaulai, rajma, etc. Weakening bones, the danger of osteopenia, are made of living tissues. Tissue breaks, however, continue to form. When osteoporosis occurs, it leads to bone growth.
