Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee outlined the future industrial development and employment opportunities ahead of the project. From the beginning of the speech, she gave a clear message about Deucha Panchami, saying that it is not just a coal mine project, but one of the tools to change the economic map of the state. She claimed that if the project, known as the world's second-largest coal mine, is fully implemented, it will provide employment to at least one lakh people. She said that many young people who have migrated to the state in search of work for a long time will now have work opportunities in their own districts. The chief minister also said that preliminary work has already started in the project area. Stone quarrying work has started and those who have given land are being compensated and rehabilitated. She also assured that jobs will be given to local residents.
